I a Sony woofer W3000 with pair of Sony F6000 speakers connected to Sherwood Rx-4109 Amplifier/receiver 105WX2 in my great room open to a breakfast area and kitchen. At about 40% volume it is too loud and this a a very large area. The sounds are great and this product is really worth the price.
got the JBL Venue 12 500 watt model for a lesser price on a promotion also from Amazon. This one was a major letdown. Did not fill even an apartment living room.
I was worried when I first unpacked it. It was larger than expected but once I plugged it in and played with the adjustments I quickly forgot about its size.Excellent bass response & if you place it in a corner it rewards you with even more.Movies and music stand out.
Can't go much louder unless my wife is out of the house. I've had this for 90 days, and have no complaints at all. I'm using it in a room that is about 10' x 18', and it adds enough rumble to my movies even at about 30-40% of its potential volume. My only frustration (not a complaint, just something I didn't think of before purchasing) is that I find myself adjusting the volume and the crossover fairly frequently, depending on whether I'm watching a movie, TV, playing WII/XBOX, and depending on whether my wife is in the room. The adjustments are a little tough because the knobs are on the back of the speaker - I would have paid a little more to get the same model with a remote control.
Booming low bass, awesome movie sounds, great for music, and it fills up a pretty giant room with noise. I love Polk, and it's usually all I buy. I wanted to get the Polk model comparable to this one, but it was significantly more expensive. I got the twelve inch because the room we needed it for is pretty big and is not closed off by four walls. But I settled for this one due to the subsantial price difference, and I was extremely surprised. This subwoofer sounds great. This woofer does an excellent job. I highly recommend it.
